"Thriving among pandemics"

It has been more than a year since the pandemic brought on by the SARS-CoV-2 virus started at the beginning of 2020. It drastically changed our daily life, but at the same time we also observed the unbelievable speed of the analysis of the pathogen and disease, resulting in the dissemination of countermeasures and the development of vaccines. However, we also observed that all countries struggled with how to decide the level of countermeasures to enforce and how to balance them with the health of their economy. Sharing knowledge and experiences of this pandemic is critically important to figure out how to emerge from the damage and even thrive among the other pandemics that will undoubtedly occur by unknown or reemerging pathogens in the future.

In this year's SaSSOH, we would like to share findings and knowledge not only about SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19, but also about the various fields comprising the One Health movement to discuss how we can create a society that is robust against pandemics.
