SaSSOH 2022 Students Session 

This year’s SaSSOH Student Session will be featuring an originally designed board game: PANDEMIC–One Health War.

The story begins on a planet called Asgard. There is an emergence of a novel deadly virus called the Momisate virus which is quickly spreading and killing people all over the planet. You will be playing as a member of a National Emergency Multidisciplinary Team to lead your country through the pandemic. 

During the session, participants will be:

  • Playing as a unique character with unique abilities. (Everyone is different!)
  • Rolling dice to determine your fate. (Yep. REAL dice!)
  • Moving tokens on a huge tabletop board. (Real wooden tokens. All with elaborate designs.)

 

The game is designed to encourage problem solving and communication between participants, just like a real team trying to support their nation through a pandemic.*If you are interested in joining the event, please send us an email within July 8th as there are limited seats for participating professors. *Please note that, even as a professor/faculty staff member, you will be participating as one of the team members, not as a supervisor. So, if you are a professor or faculty staff member who is especially interested in experiencing exciting moments alongside the students rather than taking the back seat, don’t hesitate to join!

 

A lot of work (and money) has been poured into the game’s development and design. We’re even considering publishing the game! So, come join us on this epic adventure in the SaSSOH Student Session.
